Let's see first of all i am so glad this is OVER! The stress is off.
Wake...........
Not many of Sean's family or his sister's in laws family said much to us. Was more like hi sorry for your loss w/out handshakes very hurried. The wake was very tense at first, but alot of our friends and Sean's bosses showed up. (THANK YOU FOR OUR FRIENDS THAT SHOWED UP TO SUPPORT US.....YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THAT MEANT TO US IN THIS STRESSFUL TIME)
Sean's brother in laws family was outside pounding beers between visits inside. It looked like a tailgate party. I have never seen anything like it.
Sean and his brother stood off to the side for a while (not in the receiving line)then Sean migrated over to the end. Joey didn't go in the line.
My girls went and they looked GORGEOUS. Nana did awesome getting them ready, with their french braids, toes and nails done and they just looked so cute. They did great. They had this imaginary line they would not cross to the "crate" as meg called it. But i think they finally went up to the casket.
I didn't speak one word to his 2 sisters or step mom in law, neither did they to me either. From one in law family one person, they other one. Sean did so good to awkwardly introduce who he could to his BLEEPING sisters as they came through the backwards line.
The limo drivers and the funeral home people are very good friends with Sean's brother in law, and let me tell you i wasn't impressed. They didn't open the door for incomers, and were not present at all during the 4 hours we were there for anythings we needed. I swear they were out pounding beers as well.
FUNERAL....................
Now i am not catholic, so i haven't a clue what the protocol, stupid traditions are. SORRY it's my opinion and after this blog my opinion will be even more pronounced. I know some are thinking one priest can't affect my opinion of the whole catholic religion, yes it can and it does, JUST DEAL OK.
So we show up this morning at 9 for a what was described "little service". I thoguth a song, or some words or nice things to be said will be going on. Nothing it's like last nite only more people are crying, and another freaking receiving line, that Sean did not participate in.
NOBODY SAYS ANYTHING TO US. NOBODY, NOBODY NOBODY. (except the sister and his brother that we talk to)
They start lining us up for the limo. We are in the second limo (no biggie, they actually got us one) but behind the limo we were in was an in law, NOT THE GRANDCHILDREN. We're all fumimg in the limo about this. The limo driver is getting such an earful to tell the family. It's almost funny.
We get to the church. they sit of course the 2 sisters in front row, and the rest behind. SEAN IS FUMING, he's like i am sitting 3 rows back at my fathers OWN FUNERAL!never mind the other side and the pews were 100% empty.
The priest rushed through the ceremony. Sean's niece was told it would be inappropriate to read her poem she wrote (i posted it already) and the priest yawned at least 5 times, made some inappropriate remarks about Joe, and forgot his OWN BISHOPS NAME.
I am literally gacking out loud b/c of the incense, it only got worse. I almost had to leave never mind during the ulogy when they did NOT MENTION SEAN, JOEY, OR ANNE ONCE with a bunch of lies about Joe and how he attended all the grandchildrens games and never missed a game. BULLSHIT NEVER SHOWED UP ONCE AT EITHER ROF MY GIRLS EVENTS. Then they go on to thank everyone but again never mention Sean, Joey or Anne. NEVER mind the obituary in the paper where the oldest isn't listed first and the wording omg GACK.........
SO i am fuming. I almost walk out on the eulogy so did Sean's nephew. I made it VERY CLEAR AND KNOWN we were not happy. and the in laws family heard all. Theres a part in a catholic mass where you turn around and say peace to you or something we didn't turn around. DUH did they think we would??????????
oh it gets better.
Sean's sister is SO UPSET from the eulogy and shit at the church, she's having a breathing or lack there of attack. We almost had to call 911. thank God Bob had an inhaler and we were all trying to calm her down. We let loose in the limo to the grave i mean the limo driver had so much crap to tell the family it's like an episode of the soprano's.
The grave.......
in comes the bagpiper FLYING down the little lanes blaring Johnny Cash, never mind the flower hearse that flew in about 40 mph. Mind you my mom had been there waiting with the girls for 45 min and they almost nailed her car.
So..........we do the little thing at the grave, la de dah the son of a bitch priest of whatever you call that piece of shit SKIPPED RIGHT OVER SEAN, JOEY AND ANNE in giving him his condolences or blessing. WE WERE APPALLED. Shocked, disgusted. If i was catholic I'd be a non from that moment on at how unprofessional and how non priest he acted. I have no respect for a religion who where a man representing God treats the deceased kids that way. SORRY.
He takes off so fast, i tried to hunt him down but he high tailed it so fast out of there it was SICK. So he's getting a phone call or email expressing my extreme disgust.
AGAIN when this happened, i made it very loud and clear with the families hearing it. DO I CARE no? Will i see these people ever again NO. They will not be at anything i care to invite them to. If Anne, Sean or joey pass I've been instructed to NOT LET THEM IN. Fine by me.
My kids couldn't let go. They were crying at the grave holding up the limo b/c Sean is just crying along with them. I was like you know what THE LIMO CAN F'ING WAIT. This is the grandchildren who are CRYING over a man who didnt give a shit about them. But yet they sit there and weep and bawl over him.
did we go back to Ember (restaurant) do you ask............
HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO
Anne was so upset her family had to go home with her and console her.
Am i glad this is over....HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL YA.
i might just post what i am going to say to the priest (if that's what you call this person). Depends on how i feel. But you can be sure I'll blog about it.
